Sonya Daniels-Hines believes that everyone has a story to be heard. She’s a devoted wife and mother to her two adult sons. In 2023, Mrs. Daniels-Hines was inducted into the Marquis Who’s Who, with the outstanding Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Her life experiences make her poised to help others through Open Doors. Her personal philosophy is that though the universe can’t always allow positive energy, the wisdom and diligence you put into any situation will come back to bless you. Mrs. Daniels-Hines is very active in her church, and earned her degree in writing from the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut
Meet Sonya Daniels-Hines
Sonya Daniels-Hines is an author with a penchant for helping women and girls overcome challenges. This desire motivated her to become an author. Mrs. Daniels-Hines holds a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from SUNY Erie Community College and a writing diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature. Before deciding to become an author, Mrs. Daniels-Hines had a decorated career in communications. After decades of decorated service—including work as a Communications Coordinator for Organ and Tissue Donation in Buffalo, NY, a customer Relations Manager for a financial institution, and a Travel Team Loan Advocacy Specialist—she retired to follow her passion for writing. Throughout the years, Mrs. Daniel-Hines received awards for her prose.
Her piece Gift of Words was featured in the Book of Poems and Short Stories and was a contributor to A Celebration of Poets. She received the Editor’s Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry from Poetry.com, where she is also named as a Distinguished Member. Her love for writing stems from a love for fiction, as well as a desire to humor her readers with thought-provoking and fascinating stories.
Her favorite people—apart from her family—are Maya Angelo, her coach Shana Danielle, Tyler Perry, Langston Hughes, and Edgar Allen Poe. She is a devoted wife to her husband Otto, and is a loving mother to her two children, Markus and Hansel. When she’s not writing, you can find Mrs. Daniel-Hines enjoying music, or arts and crafts.
